Well if you weren't sure before, you can definitely be certain now... It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! After two tries, and Rob as our saving grace, we finally finished shoveling the driveway. We measured a good 12" in spots, with our drifts higher than that! The snow was excrutiatingly heavy, and my back is sure to be aching later. Brendan, Ashley and I went out and gave it a try before lunch, but only got down 1/3 of the driveway. I had made some chicken noodle soup before we went out, so I think we were all craving that a bit and gave up sooner than we should have. It was delicious, and I haven't seen the kids devour their food in such record time!
I knew we were going to have to get back to shoveling sooner or later, but thought I would make some sugar cookies with Brendan as a diversion in the meantime. It was short lived, and we got the dough wrapped and chilling by 1:00p.m.
So, around 2p.m. I put Ash down for her afternoon nap and Brendan and I went out to give it another go. Low and behold, there was already another 4 inches or so on what we had shoveled. So we plowed through that and began our journey to the end of the driveway when much to our surprise, Rob pulled in! Belden Brick had let their team go for the day and he thought he would come rescue us from this dreadfully unending piece of blacktop. HALLELUJAH! We finished 'er up, and now we can enjoy the rest of our Friday in peace.
Sugar cookies here we come!!
